      Date: 1970 -

Description: A brownish coloured turtle identified by the Queen Victoria Museum & Art Gallery curator as a Green turtle, called a Hawksbill, a sub adult of the species.This species is common in the warm waters of the Great Barrier Reef but every year or so one or two are sighted in Furneaux Group waters, probably having come south with the warm East Australian current.
