      Description: Copy of Photograph, 'Bess' 1995, with Roger Harwood and his daughter Beth. 'Bess' is a 15 ft. Whitehall. Roger Harwood descended of Jeffery James Harwood of Essex, transported to Tasmania in 1840. The family were early settlers of 'Geesveston' and had the first white baby born in Geeveston. They ran orchards, but when the markets collapsed they switched to beef farming and Roger began building wooden boats in the apple sheds.
