      Date: 1864 -

Description: Wooden pulley with iron spike through centre. The pulley came from the wooden topmast of the City of Foochow, which went aground on 16th March 1877 between North Point, Flinders Island and Babel Island. The ship was unable to be refloated and sank further into the sand with one of the masts and part of the hull remaining visible. In January 1987 the mast fell and was dragged into the dunes by Alan Morphett, with his bulldozer. The wooden topmast was retrieved by members of the FHRA and taken to the Furneaux Museum. The topmast slowly rotted and only the pulley remains.
