Family settled at Southport, intermarried with Kennedys. Mr John Kennedy owned Southport hotel. The Ransoms and Kennedys were very strong Catholics. File contains documents relating to Henry Ransom, John Kennedy, etc., as well as an account of the famous murder of Adolf Bock, in 1908, by George Hudson from Hastings, who quarrelled over 17 year old Miss Haley (Mahalia) Bradley. (refer to Bob Bradley interview on tape). Main interview is with Gerard Ransom c.1998, and analyses the Southport of his era as well as his experience as a hand on the 'Cathkit', a limestone boat.
