      Date: 1976 -

Description: Set of two weathered jaw bones, with all the teeth intact, from a Sperm whale beached at Settlement Beach in 1978. Each jaw has 20 tusked teeth and is curved. Present regulations would not permit recovery of bones from beached whales. The skeleton of this whale is exhibited in the Museum grounds and due to exposure to all weathers is slowly disintegrating.
