      Description: The home of William Wilbraham Ford at Stanley, Tasmania, 'Dovecote'. The youngest son of Frederick Wilbraham Ford, William Ford married Kate Murray. He opened a cheese factory and a dairy at Dovecote in 1893 milking more than 100 cows. In 1899-1900 season he produced 14 tons of cheese and a small amount of butter. He later owned a farm at Marrawah and leased Hunter Island in 1905 which he continued to lease for the next 30 years.
