      Date: 1855 -

Description: Dark brown wood grain paintwork on an oval shaped tin trunk with a handle on the top of the hinged lid and it also has a hasp lock. This hat trunk or hat box originally came from Germany with the Wagner family in 1855. Sometimes they were used for the carrying of food to picnics or food when traveling and also for the storage of hats.
