Description: Three A4 archival albums containing a broad selection of photocopies of historical documents pertaining to the history of the Furneaux region. Beginning with a copy of Furneaux Isles A Short Geographical Memoir thereof, by Boatman James Campbell in 1828. Volume 1 spans the period 1828-1928 and includes copies of early press cuttings, John W Brown's surveying report 1887, memoirs of Rev S P Martin and other material. Volume 2 has material 1900 to 2000 and includes Electoral rolls 1906 (Division of Bass), 1909 (Division of Bass), 1903 (Georgetown), copies of newspaper articles, copies of early postcards showing the Settlement Point (first Post office) stamp, Identity Cards and Ration Cards from World War II, copy of 1948 Parliamentary Report: Conditions in Flinders Island Municipality and many other items. Volume 3 contains additional historical material received after cataloguing of the earlier material. William Hay Ferguson receipts, and other documents about the estates of John E Blundstone and Jules Leon Virieux, Flinders Marine Board rates 1921,Sailing items- newspaper article 1894.
