The two storey brick brewery which originally had a wooden shingle roof was built for Mr. Robert Lyall in 1864. Mr. Lyall was the proprietor of the nearby Westbury Inn. By the year 1895 the building was owned by Mrs. Lucy Phillips who was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Lyall. In the early 1900's the former brewery was being used by local businessman Mr. J.P. Sullivan as a grain and wool store. In the 1950's the building was used as a truck garage and carpenter's workshop. This image was captured from the south-eastern direction in December 1996.
