Description: ORION was a 214 ton wooden steam ship built in Devonport in 1900 by Harry Wood,and was a Holyman vessel built for the North-West Coast trade and a regular caller at Burnie for ore. In 1908 she was lost in Bass Strait on her way to Melbourne from Stanley with 27 passengers. It was to be Captain Harry Lloyd's last trip before retirement.
