Description: Photo of Huonville township Tasmania, showing the first bridge over the Huon River built on the 3rd July 1876 at a cost of £4016. 3s. 6d. Formally opened on behalf of the then Governor of Tasmania Mr F. A. Weld, by Mr Russell Young MHA for Franklin. It was stated that the ironwork used in the bridge construction had been brought from England and to be used on the construction of the Dewent Bridge at Bridgwater Tasmania instead used on the Huonville Bridge.
